Product description

Mountain Sketches is a collection of original solo double bass pieces inspired by mountainous terrain, medieval soundscapes, and the natural world.

These pieces invite bass players to step away from purely technical studies and explore a different musical space. The music is calm, spacious, and reflective, giving players the chance to slow down, focus their sound, and enjoy the instrument in a more relaxed and therapeutic way.

While deeply musical, Mountain Sketches still develops essential skills. Each piece encourages control of tone, bow weight, phrasing, and intonation, all within music that feels rewarding to play rather than mechanical.

This collection is ideal for players who want to:

  • Explore atmospheric and nature-inspired solo repertoire
  • Develop sound, bow control, and musical focus
  • Enjoy a relaxing and meditative playing experience
  • Reconnect with the double bass through expressive music

Mountain Sketches allows bassists to build technique while immersing themselves in calming, mountain-inspired sound worlds that feel both grounding and restorative.
