روح الله خالقی به عنوان خالق (Tasnif Khooshe Chin) for SOLO double bass

My decision to create an Iranian influenced solo double bass piece was mainly due to the lack of acceptance of Iranian culture in the United States. Over time I would keep hearing such negative things on the news about Iran that I thought I would be a little rebellious and start arranging/composing Iranian music as a natural born United States citizen. This music, which is really called "Persian music", is so beautiful, yet so out of touch with American culture. I hope that the more we play this piece in 'western' concert halls, the more I hope people will set aside politics and appreciate the artistic gems that Iran has to offer.
