"Fiesta" carbon fiber double bass German bow by Xavier Foley
Carbon fiber bows are the most robust yet playable bows on the market to date. Contrary to popular belief about carbon fiber bows, they actually produce a decent sound. This is why I myself have performed on carbon fiber bows ever since I first got my hands on one when I was only 13 years old. The advantage of using carbon fiber bows over wooden made bows is that you can hit the bow as hard as you want on the string and fingerboard for pieces that require extended technique, and still have your bow look perfectly fine without a scratch. These bows last forever, so it is the greatest investment one could ever make, with minimal depreciation. I hope you guys enjoy the Fiesta bow!

I've been using this bow for about four months now and haven't regretted switching from French, though it was tricky at first. My teacher was very impressed with my new sound once I had a few weeks to get comfortable with it. She plays and teaches French bow, but she approved of my decision to switch to German after hearing my new tone. Unfortunately, I can't compare this to other German bows due to limited experience with them, but I like the feel and the sound of it. I only play classical, so bow quality is essential to my playing.
For reference, my previous bow, which I used for about a year and a half, was a wooden French bow with white hair. Compared to that bow, the Fiesta German bow (which I ordered with mixed black and white hair) produces a much bigger sound, with better control. Good weight and good grip. This bow has convinced me to switch to German after 13 years on French. I'd recommend it to any student like myself thinking about switching.
