Product description

Modern solo music for intermediate double bass players

Concept Bass is a collection of modern solo pieces designed to help intermediate bass players improve technique by playing real music, not traditional drills.

Instead of isolating concepts, each piece integrates contemporary rhythms, modern harmony, and groove-based ideas into complete compositions that feel current and engaging to play.

These pieces expand the double bass repertoire beyond standard etudes, encouraging rhythmic confidence, expressive phrasing, and musical thinking while reinforcing essential technical skills.

What you’ll develop

  • Stronger left-hand coordination through repeating musical patterns
  • Improved rhythmic feel and groove
  • Better shifting and position awareness, including introduction to thumb position
  • Greater control of tone, articulation, and phrasing in modern musical contexts

Why Concept Bass works

  • Music-first approach instead of mechanical exercises
  • Influenced by contemporary classical writing, film textures, and modern rhythmic language
  • Suitable for practice, lessons, warmups, and performance
  • Engaging for both players and audiences
